BPOS
The Upside Down Radio CD
One League Entertainment
Cdr Promo
I picked up this promo CD in a pile at the radio station where I do a radio show. Being a big fan of Hip-Hop this release from San Francisco's BPOS caught my eye Some classic conscious Hip-Hop and some sick beats and rhymes. This was recorded and cut in San Francisco at BPOS's own studio. DJ Johnny Venetti provides the beats and scratching while D-Wiz, Khafre and Goodword drop the rhymes.
Highly Recommended:) for people searching for something new in Hip-Hop. Fresh Sounds

Leroy Sibbles
No Bad Feelings
Penthouse Records
1994
7" Single
I picked up this 1994 Reggae single a few years ago at the storage locker of Campus Disc. I eyed a bag of 45's around 300 in a LCBO bag in the corner and asked "How Much?" the answer came back and I scooped them up faster than you can say "Who got the best batty rider". Some classic roots reggae with a touch of dub. This was recorded and cut in Jamaica. Sibbles is an influential person in the Canadian Reggae scene as he was based out of Toronto since 1973. I have been lucky enough to share a conversation with this Reggae legend.

This Classic 1991 politically sensitive take on the nations addiction to TV is a early project of Michael Franti hot of the the heals of his Beatnigs release. I picked this one up when I was music director at CHRY-FM in North York. Classic Hip Hop release essential part of anyone's collection.
